How do fly suggestions work?

WhatFly pulls real-time weather, water temperature, and flow data from USGS stations and weather APIs near your chosen location. Our algorithm matches these conditions to the flies most likely to be effective for the species and season.

Why does the app need my location?

Location is used to show conditions and fly suggestions for nearby rivers and fishing spots. You can tap anywhere on the map instead if you prefer not to share your current location — it is never required.

How do I report a problem with another user?

Tap the menu (···) on any post and select Report Post. You can also visit a user's profile and tap Block to remove their content from your feed immediately. All reports are reviewed within 24 hours.

How do I delete my account?

Go to Profile → Settings → Delete Account in the app. Your data will be permanently deleted within 30 days. If you have trouble, email us at whatflyfishing@gmail.com.

The app isn't loading conditions — what's wrong?

Check that you have an active internet connection. Some remote locations may not have USGS gauge data nearby — in those cases the app will show weather data only. If the issue persists, email us with your device type and iOS version.

Can I use WhatFly without creating an account?

Fly suggestions and conditions are available without an account. An account is required to post catches, follow other anglers, and participate in the community feed.
